The wedding philosophy of Paper Reflections is simple:

To make sure your day is covered the way you want so you never have to worry. The goal is to capture everything that happens and to document every detail that you spent time or money on. All of that comes together in the album which tells the story of your wedding day. Take a look below for more in-depth information about weddings with Paper Reflections.

Here is a list of questions and answers I have received over the years from clients regarding wedding photography.

The number one question I get asked is “How much time should we reserve for photos on the wedding day?”

The short answer is: as much time as possible. There isn’t one answer that suits every wedding. You need time for family photos, wedding party photos and, most importantly, we need some time alone to do photographs of the bride & groom. I would love to discuss what works best for you, your personality, your day and your guests to find the best timing. It is best build a buffer of extra time in your schedule. Worst case scenario you have more time to mingle with guests. I love to have 30 minutes or an hour to work with the couple but that isn’t often possible unless you do photos before the ceremony. That is a whole other topic for conversation!

Should we see each other before the ceremony to do photos?

YES! But I will still happily photograph your wedding if you do not want to see each other before the ceremony.

Do you have a cost per hour? For example if we wanted you for an extra hour on the day of the wedding?

If you are looking to customize a package to meet the needs of your day please contact me with specific details and I am happy to see what we can work out. If the wedding day is running behind schedule I am often able to stay late at an additional cost per hour. I will check in with you or your wedding co-ordinator before I leave to make sure nothing is left undocumented.

Are all the photos you take included with our wedding package or just the ones that are in the album?

I hand pick all the great ones that work together to tell the story of your day, not just the ones for the album. I remove photos with blinking, test shots, images with people talking and anything that just doesn't look fantastic. You receive your images two ways. Initially you will receive an email with a link to your password protected online gallery with proof quality images. These images are great for sharing on social media and sending to your family and friends. In your final delivery with your album(s) you will also get the high resolution jpeg images on a USB memory drive.

Do you back up your photos?

Yes. When I get home from a wedding I immediately put all the images on my computer which has an automatic back-up as well as I manually put the images on a secondary back-up drive. On top of that I never use the memory cards from your wedding day again until your products are delivered. By the time you go to bed on your wedding night there are 4 copies of your wedding pictures. Yes, I back my images up!

How long will it take to receive the photos/album/images etc after the wedding?

Online proofs from the entire day will be sent to you within 3 weeks of your wedding day and you can have your album in your hand within 6 to 8 weeks from the wedding day!

I notice that you do a lot of romantic shots (which I love!) but just wanted to make sure you were willing to do some traditional shots as well (often what moms and grandma’s want) and maybe even some fun ones too!

On the wedding day I take traditional shots as well as candid, romantic and creative photographs. I typically start with a few traditional to warm everyone up and then move into more creative shots.

Would you need or like to see the venue prior to the event?

I do not need to see the venue before the wedding day. I am fully prepared for any lighting situation! If it is important to you that I see the venue prior to the wedding day we can arrange to have your engagement pictures taken there or you are welcome to email me photos of the location.

What kind of equipment do you use? Do you have back-up gear?

I always carry 2 professional Canon cameras and multiple L series lenses plus back-ups in case of malfunction.

Are travel expenses included?

Within Prince Edward County and the Quinte area travel expenses are included. I often travel to Madoc, Brighton, Kingston and everywhere in between. Out of town weddings have additional charges for travel and accommodation.

Do you work with an assistant at weddings?

Yes. I refer to the position as second shooter. Most of the time it is my husband but on the rare occasion he can’t make it I hire another professional to spend the day with us.

What are the benefits of a second shooter?

The main benefit of a second second shooter is the additional perspective of your wedding day. Traditionally, I am with the bride getting ready and the second is with the groom. I get the bride coming down the aisle and he is getting the grooms reaction. I am photographing the speech and he is snapping the reaction...or vice versa. A second shooter can be capturing guests and details and organizing family for photos while I am photographing you. As good as I am, I haven’t figured out how to be in two places at once so a second photographer is a must to ensure we capture your day!

Can I give you a shot list or send you my Pinterest board?

If there are family or friend shots you would like outside of immediate family I recommend a letting me know prior to your wedding day so that no one is forgotten. I will always take photos with your parents, siblings, and grandparents. If there is an idea you have for a shot you would like, please feel free to email it to me. I love for you to share your vision and inspiration with us for your wedding however I do not copy other photographer’s work. I will get all the must have shots - you getting ready, walking down the aisle, first kiss, etc. - all the typical wedding things so you do not need to list them for me.

How much notice do you need to book an engagement shoot?

I book on a first-come, first-served basis.  If there is a specific date you are hoping for I recommend booking as far in advance as you can. If it is rainy we can reschedule. Engagement sessions that are part of a wedding package must be done at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding.

Why do you include an engagement session with your All-Inclusive Collections?

Doing an engagement session before the wedding is essentially giving the both of us a trial run before the big event. We’ll get to know each other better, become more comfortable with each other, and the results will show in your wedding images.

Can I print my photos?

Yes you can! I also encourage you to make a back up copy for yourself. Professional quality prints and enlargements as well as other products such as prints on wood, canvas and metal can be ordered. Check out the product page for more information!
